A study on Easy-Connection Technologies for optical home network -- To realize a DIY optical home network --

(in English) To spread optical home network into every house, we need improve on construction technology of optical network to the level of a metallic network. To realize this objective, the concept ‘DIY (Do It Yourself)’ is proposed. We think the key technology for a DIY optical network is an easy connection technology and are studying about it. In this paper, we report the present state and the future plan of our research which consist of an easy connection ferrule using cleavage effect and a connection technique of coated fiber.
