Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) It is known that Maximum Likelihood(ML) criterion results in optimum
detector for CDMA systems in the sense of minimizing the probability of
the decision error.
While the ML detector minimizes the BER, it requires a computational
complexity that grows exponentially with the increasing number of
simultaneous users.
In this paper, we propose a sub-optimum multiuser detection using M
algorithm based on ML criterion for synchronous down-link MC-CDMA
system.
We consider tree search algorithm based on linear filters such as MRC,
ZF and MMSE, and introduce M algorithm in searching survivors which
extend to next stage.
Although the complexity of the ML detector as a function of the number of
users is exponentially increasing, the proposed scheme requires linear
complexity.
The proposed scheme achieves the lower complexity without the loss of BER
performance in comparison with ML detector.
Further, the proposed scheme reduces more computational complexity of ML
detector by introducing grouping of reliability of signal detection
based on ML criterion.
