多層プリント回路基板電源供給プレーンの等価インダクタンスと放射抑制のためのキャパシタ配置

多層プリント回路基板を対象として、信号配線が電源、グラウンド両プレーンをチップの動作に必要な電荷の供給や電圧変動による不要電磁波放射を低減するためのデカップリングキャパシタの最適配置に関する設計指針を得るため、電源供給系の等価インダクタンスの定量的な検討を行った。電源供給系を２次元等価回路ネットワークモデルにより表現し、解析を行った結果、電源プレーン、グラウンドプレーン間距離が小さいほど、この系の寄生インダクタンスが小さくなることを確認した。さらに、この解析結果を信号パターンが電源プレーン、グラウンドプレーンを貫いて配線された際に生じるビアホール近傍へのキャパシタの配置による放射抑制効果の定量化に適用した。 |

The dependence of voltage disturbances between the power-distribution planes to allocation of a capacitor nearby the via is investigated. Power-distribution plane voltages in multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) are one of the main sources of electro-magnetic interference (EMI). Via penetrating through the power and ground planes gives a rise to the voltage disturbance between these two planes. Voltage reduction effectiveness to allocate a decoupling capacitor is evaluated quantitatively by using an equivalent circuit model. Calculated results have showed the optimized capacitor allocation. A simple analytical formulation has also been introduced about the relation between the space of the power-distribution planes and the distance from the via to the decoupling capacitor in order to determine disturbances of power distribution planes within certain thresholds. Design rule for allocations of decoupling capacitors is also described. |
