IP related network based products have been drastically increasing these days and this trend will continue in the days ahead. The development and deployment cycles of products are becoming shorter and shorter, hence, it is required that the Operation Support Systems(OSS) will support those new products more rapidly than ever. When we adopt an OSS to a new product, the development period of service activation function tends to be long, because of the nature that the specification of the function is often affected by the products. This stands as one of the main reasons of the prolonged OSS development cycle. In this regard, to minimize the volume of service activation function to be developed, by increasing the flexibility against new products, will surely be very beneficial to the reduction of the development cycle and cost. In this paper, we first analyze the differences of products from the view points of service activation by taking some IP products of service providers as examples, then, we study a method that can flexibly incorporate those differences into OSSs. We have made much use of XSLT which is a XML document transformation language and is often employed in information sharing among OSSs , and we evaluate its applicability. |
