Electromagnetic Field Simulation Using FDTD Method with Variable Mesh Size

(in English) In this report, we propose an electromagnetic field simulation technique using FDTD method with variable mesh size. In this technique, the mesh size is changed dynamically in the simulation. In this method, mesh size and time step size are controlled according to the electromagnetic field intensity. This method reduces the simulation cost without degradation of accuracy, even if the simulation is done for the input signal including the high frequency factors. Finally, some electromagnetic field simulations for the example board with a microstrip line are performed using the proposed method. From the simulation results, the validity and efficiency of this technique are verified.
