A study of interference detection method guaranteeing Quality of Service of real-time data transmission in Wireless Local Area Network

(in English) In this manuscript, interference detection method in real-time data transmission is proposed. The proposed method guarantees the Quality of Service (QoS) of high quality real-time data by avoiding the detected interference. In the proposed method, the Station (STA) that receives real-time data detects interference while the STA receives real-time data as following. The STA judges from the result that the differential of averaged Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) exceeds the threshold, and the result that the frame duration in the wireless medium derived from the frame header information equals the frame duration in the wireless medium measured by the RSSI. The STA that detects interference reports the existence of interference to Access Point (AP) by using the Measurement Report frame in the IEEE 802.11h. The AP that receives the report indicating the existence of interference switches frequency channels dynamically to the new frequency channel that is not in use. The interference detection probability is evaluated by computer simulation, and effectiveness of the proposed method is shown.
