Single-mode operation of silica-core Bragg fibers

(in English) Bragg fibers with thin silica-core below 10$\mu$m diameter were fabricated by using tapered fiber technology. The mode property of our fiber is considered with the help of transfer matrix method and a band diagram. We show that, in the case of our fiber structure, high-order TM and mixed modes are intercepted by the mode filtering of TM polarization band. In addition, it is found that the fiber supports HE11 mode and is able to be treated in single-mode when the light is excited by adiabatic taper shape.
