Implementation and Evaluation of Uncompressed HDTV over IP Transmission System

(in English) We developed the IP transmission system of uncompressed HDTV signal as part of the research on the high-speed stream processing. Since uncompressed HDTV signal has the band of about 1.5Gbps, uncompressed HDTV transmission system requires very high-speed stream processing technologies. We developed the HDTV over IP transmission system based on marketing PC. To enable low latency HDTV transmission, we also developed an HD-SDI input-output interface. This interface is a unique design based on the network interface. The low latency image I/O was achieved with simple hardware compared with the general one. In this paper, we describe the outline of our HDTV transmission system and evaluation result of this system.
