A Discrimination Technique for the Irradiation Point by Frequency Analysis in PLDD Methods

(in English) This paper proposes a discrimination technique of irradiation points in the PLDD (Percutaneous Laser Disc Decompression) method. This technique is based on the frequency analysis of sounds, which are occurred in laser radiation. To develop an algorithm, we consider an experiment, which uses gelatin and porcine bones as models of nucleus pulpous and human bones. From this experiment and analysis of the sounds, the applicable condition for sounds analysis makes clear. Under this condition, it is known that the sounds are changed when the distance from the top of fiber to bones becomes under about 1mm. A computer program for discrimination can also be developed to show the possibility for the automatic warning.
