Evaluation of the Structure of Mitral Annulus Using Realtime 3D Echocardiography

(in English) We aimed to clarify the configuration of the mitral annulus in ischemic functional mitral regurgitation by utilizing transthoracic real-time three dimensional (3D) echocardiography. Patients with ischemic MR and healthy control subjects were examined by real-time 3D transthoracic echocardiography. Utilizing real-time 3D echocardiography, configuration of the mitral annulus was constructed throughout the cardiac cycle. Height of the saddle shaped mitral annulus was calibrated. In control subjects, mitral annulus configuration appeared as non-planner ヤsaddle shapeユ. Saddle shape of the mitral annulus was markedly deformed in MR group. Mitral annulus geometry could be assessed by using real-time 3D echocardiography.
