This study designs and develops a novel transmitter called the rotary LED transmitter to improve the data rate for image sensor communication systems. This transmitter rotates LEDs, which blink depending on the modulated data, faster than the shutter speed of the image sensor (receiver). In this case, the receiver can capture multiple blinking LEDs per image. Namely, we can increase the amount of information per captured image by rotating LEDs. This paper shows an operation verification result of the rotary LED transmitter and its potential for data rate improvement. |
