［所信表明］

withコロナ対応により、学会運営はオンライン化へ一気に舵を切った感があります。今後は、距離を克服する情報通信の強みをさらに活かしつつ、オフラインの強みであったヒューマンネットワーク形成も可能な、Augmented Instituteともいうべき新しい学会運営の実現に向け、内面からの積極的な変革が期待されます。例えば海外からの一般、招待講演をオンラインと併用して実施する、まだ会員でない若手にオンライン視聴してもらい裾野を広げるなど、新しい形での通信ソサイエティ活性化の道もあり得るのではないでしょうか。 これまでの研究会運営ならびに編集活動の経験を踏まえ、postコロナに向けた新しい学会のあり方について、会員の皆様と一緒に考えていきたいと思っております。

昭和58年大阪大学工学部卒業。昭和63年同大学院博士課程終了（工博）。
現在関西大学システム理工学部教授。
これまでコンピュータネットワークの研究、特にコンテンツ配信に関する研究に従事。
平成23年 本会フェロー。

［Statement］

IEICE activities including general conference(Taikai) and technical committee conference(Kenkyu-kai), are forced to be virtual due to COVID-19. External pressure of COVID-19 totally changes our institute. Towards post-COVID 19, IEICE communications society should be transformed to a new style of Augmented Institute which integrates both of strong points of virtual and off-line activities in a sophisticated manner. For example, our society can provide an attractive interaction field to not only world-wide experts but also future prospective young engineers by integrating virtual and off-line activities. If appointed, I will contribute to the improvement and advancement of IEICE Communications society towards forthcoming post-COVID 19 era with a strong passion.

［Biography］

He received B.E, M.E and Ph.D. in communications engineering from Osaka University. He is now a professor at Kansai University. His research interests include content distribution in computer networks. He served as Vice President of IEICE ComSoc, Chair of Editorial Board of IEICE ComSoc, Editor-in Chief of IEICE Transactions on Communications, and Chair of Technical Committee of Network Systems. And he also served as IEEE Kansai Section Chair and Executive Committee Member of IEEE Region 10. He is a fellow of IEICE.
