電子情報通信学会はその歴史が100年を超え、我が国における情報通信分野の学術の総本山と言っても過言ではありません。学会活動の目的は、海外を含め大学・研究機関における研究者・教育者、産業界の研究者・技術者、或いは産業政策や高等教育に係る方々を中心に幅広いネットワークを形成し、様々な知識と知恵を共有し、新しい研究分野の開拓と既存知識の継承・発展及び次世代の専門人材の育成に資することと思います。急速なディジタル化、グローバル化が進んでいく中で学会を取り巻く環境は激変してきています。情報通信分野だけでなく他の科学技術分野或いは社会科学分野などとの境界を越えた幅広い連携と融合も求められていると思います。その中で、学会活動として大胆に変革するところとしっかり継承していくべきところを見極め、情報通信技術の持続的発展に資する学会活動の旗振りを行うのが理事会の役割と思います。監事として、これまでの研究実用化、企業経営、非営利公共団体、学会活動などの経験を活かし、しっかりと理事会活動を支援したいと考えています。

［プロフィール］

1980年東北大学理学部数学科修士課程修了。同年日本電信電話公社（現NTT）入社武蔵野電気通信研究所基幹交換研究部配属、1989年交換システム研究所主任研究員、1990年工学博士（東北大）、1993年同主幹研究員。1997年広帯域システム研究室室長。この間、トラヒック理論、高速広帯域パケット網アーキテクチャの研究、ATM交換システムの開発・実用化に従事。ITU-T SG13ラポータ, TTC第2部門第5専門委員会委員長、MSF(Multi Service Switching Forum)ボードメンバなどB-ISDN/ATMの国際・国内標準化活動にも参加。2003年NTTデータ先端技術（株）代表取締役社長。2007年　NTTサービスインテグレーション基盤研究所所長。2009年NTT情報流通基盤総合研究所所長を経て2011年NTTデータ先端技術（株）代表取締役社長、2018年同社相談役、最高技術顧問。2020年同社フェロー。1986年篠原記念学術奨励賞、2008年通信ソサイエティ活動功労顕彰状、2009年電子情報通信学会フェロー、2009年~2011年本会編集理事、2014年~2015年本会通信ソサイエティ会長。2011年より日本セキュリティ監査協会理事副会長、2019年より筑波大学客員教授。CISSP（ISC2認定情報セキュリティスペシャリスト）、CISA(公認情報システム監査人)を保有。

［Statement］

The IEICE has a history of more than 100 years, and it plays the leading role of academia in the field of information and communication in Japan. The purpose of activities for the society is to form a wide network centered on researchers and educators at universities or research institutes, researchers and engineers in industry, or people involved in industrial policy and higher education, including overseas, and to share various knowledge between people, and to contribute to the development of new research fields as well as the inheritance and development of existing knowledge, and the development of next-generation professional human resources. The environment surrounding academic area for the society is changing drastically as rapid digitalization and globalization progress. There is also a need for wide-ranging collaboration and fusion that transcends boundaries not only with the information and communication fields but also with other science and technology fields or social science fields. I think it is the major role of the society’s Board of Directors to identify the objectives of the society where bold changes required and where they should be inherited, and to waving the flag for sustainable evolution for the future of the society. As an auditor, I would like to make full use of my experience in R&D, corporate management, non-profit public organizations, academic society activities, and firmly support the activities of the board of directors.

［Biography］

In 1980, he graduated from Tohoku University, master degree of Mathematics, and joined NTT Electric Communication Laborites. Since then he actively worked for R&D for high speed packet based broad-band communication network architecture and systems. He received doctoral degree of Engineering form Tohoku University in 1990. Since 1991, he joined a carrier grade ATM switching system development project in NTT as an architecture group leader and the system had been widely deployed nation widely. He also joined international and national standardization activity for B-ISDN and ATM in ITU-T SG13 and TTC. Then, he was assigned CEO of NTT Data Intellilink Corporation, which was a subsidiary of NTT Data and responsible for the development and deployment of leading-edge/mission critical open system platform for their customers, during 2003 to 2007. After that, he moved to the Director of NTT Service Integration Laboratory since 2007 to 2009 and the Director of NTT Information Sharing Laboratory since 2009 to 2011. Then he came back to NTT Data Intellilink as CEO in 2011. In 2018, he retired the CEO and became executive adviser and then became corporate fellow in 2018 and 2020 respectively. He is a Fellow of IEICE in 2009. In the IEICE, he was a board member of editorial committee during 2009 to 2011, President of Communication Society during 2014 to 2015. He is also Vice President of JASA(Japan Information Security Audit Association), guest professor of Tsukuba University. He holds CISSP and CISA as information security professional.
