［所信表明］

2020年、新型コロナウイルスにより世界中で社会生活が突然大きく変化しました。本会が扱う情報通信技術が社会を支えるインフラとして不可欠であることが改めて認識された一方、物理的な距離の壁を越えて人々が交わり活動するにはまだまだ進展が必要であることも露わになりました。このような中、専門性の深化と異分野を含む領域融合の両面から、さまざまな立場、知識を有する人が集まりオープンに議論する場を提供することが、新しい時代の技術に向けた本会の大きな役割の一つであると考えています。新たな形も取り込んで、新しい価値を生み出す魅力的な場となるよう尽力したいと思います。

［プロフィール］

平成2年東京工業大学大学院電気・電子工学専攻修士課程修了。同年、株式会社富士通研究所に入社し、半導体レーザを中心とした光通信用の光半導体デバイスの研究開発に従事。平成12〜13年、独ハインリッヒ・ヘルツ研究所客員研究員。令和元年より富士通株式会社に異動し、現在、同社未来ネットワーク統括部先行技術開発室シニアディレクター。平成8年度本会学術奨励賞受賞。平成29年度レーザ・量子エレクトロニクス研究専門委員会委員長、エレクトロニクスソサイエティフォトニクス領域委員会副委員長。

［Statement］

In 2020,COVID-19 suddenly changed people's life in the world. We recognize that the information and communication technology,that is the scope of IEICE,is indispensable as the infrastructure supporting our society. On the other hand,it is revealed that more progress is still needed for people in different places to interact sufficiently beyond the barrier of distance. Under these circumstances,I believe that one of the main roles of IEICE toward technology of a new era is to provide places where people with various positions and knowledge gather and discuss openly from both viewpoints of advanced technology in a field and fusion of different technology fields. I will do my best to make IEICE an attractive place for creating new values introducing a new style.

［Biography］

Tsuyoshi Yamamoto received the B. E. and M.E. degrees from Tokyo Institute of Technology,Tokyo,Japan,in 1988 and 1990,respectively. In 1990,he joined Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd.,Atsugi,Japan,where he engaged in research and development of optical semiconductor devices for optical communication. From October 2000 to October 2001,he was a Guest Scientist at the Heinrich-Herz-Institut für Nachrichtentechnik,Berlin,Germany. Since 2019,he has been with Fujitsu Limited and currently is a senior director of Advanced Technology Development Office,Future Network Division. He received the Young Researcher's Award from the IEICE in 1997. He was the Chair of Technical Committee on Lasers and Quantum Electronics and the Vice Chair of Photonics Related Technologies Committee Group in IEICE-ES in 2017.
