東京2020大会が開催され、5Gのネットワークが本格始動し、第6期科学技術基本計画の案が示される今年を大きな節目と感じます。103年にわたりICT分野を牽引してきた電子情報通信学会が先頭に立ち、これから進んでいくべき科学技術の方向を示すことで、グローバル競争力を備えたイノベーションエコシステムが形成され、2020年以降の豊かで輝かしい未来を現実にできると思います。私は企画戦略室長として、学会の皆様との議論や他学会との多様な連携、府省への提言などを通じ、学会のありたい未来の姿の実現に貢献していきたいと考えています。

［プロフィール］

1988年阪大基礎工修了。同年三菱電機入社。情報技術総合研究所光電波・通信技術部門統轄、東京大学産学連携本部、Mitsubishi Electric Research Lab. Inc.取締役、先端技術総合研究所長を経て、現在同社役員技監。博士（工学）。本学会フェロー、2013年度光通信システム研究会委員長。IEEE、OSA、レーザー学会会員。経産省産業構造審議会研究開発・イノベーション小委員会委員、COCN実行委員。

［Statement］

I feel that this year 2020 becomes a major milestone. In order to form an innovation ecosystem with global competitiveness, The IEICE should lead the direction of science and technology for the future. As the director of the Planning Strategy Office, I would like to contribute to realize the bright future of the society through discussions with members, various collaborations with other societies, and proposals to the ministry.

［Biography］

Takashi Mizuochi received the M. Eng. and PhD. degrees from Osaka University. He joined Mitsubishi Electric Corp. in 1988, where he served as a BoD of Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories Inc., and Senior General Manager of Advanced Technology R&D Center. He is currently Executive Fellow. He is a fellow of IEICE, members of IEEE, OSA, and the Laser Society of Japan.
