［所信表明］

2018年度、2019年度と基礎・境界ソサイエティの次期会長、会長を務めさせて頂き、本学会の「いま」を把握できていると思っています。本学会がそのビジネスモデルを大きく変革させようとしていて、各種コンテンツを重視するシステムが整えつつあります。そのコンテンツに国際会議論文が含まれました。このことで、各ソサイエティがこれまで以上に国際会議を重視することが期待され、本学会の国際化が促進されるでしょう。一方、英文論文誌の海外からの投稿件数の減少やインパクトファクターの伸び悩みが気になる状況です。私自身、基礎・境界ソサイエティの事業として行っている「国外におけるジャーナル論文の書き方セミナー」において、東南アジア諸国で講師を務めてきましたが、本学会のプレゼンスが必ずしも高くないことを実感しています。本学会の国際化を図るためにも、本学会の海外におけるプレゼンスの向上を図る必要があります。そのためには海外での国際会議の開催、国際セクションの強化等が必要でしょう。国際化のための種々の施策を包括的に考えることで、本学会の実体的な国際化に貢献したいと考えています。

［プロフィール］

1984慶大・工・電気卒、1989慶大・理工･博士課程了、工学博士。同年、武蔵工大(現 東京都市大)助手。現在、東京都市大・知識工・教授（学部長）。本会にて、英文論文誌編集幹事(2001-2002)、SIS研専委員長(2008-2009)、ESS運営委員会庶務幹事(2014-2015)、ESS次期会長（2018）、ESS会長(2019)、総合大会実行委員長(2011)、ソサイエティ大会実行委員長(2017)などを歴任。特別功労賞(2003)、貢献賞(2016)などを受賞。本会フェロー。

［Statement］

I have been serving as the President-Elect (2018) and President (2019) of ESS, and I believe that I recognize the current status of the IEICE. The IEICE is trying to change the business model. We decided to use various contents for business. International conference paper was included in the content. As a result, each society is expected to increase the number of international conferences, and the internationalization of the IEICE will be promoted. On the other hand, I am concerned that the decrease in the number of submissions to IEICE Trans. from overseas and the impact factor will not improve. I have been a lecturer at ESS seminars in Southeast Asian countries. From this experience, I understand that IEICE's presence is not high in Southeast Asian countries. In order to internationalize IEICE, it is necessary to improve IEICE's overseas presence. To achieve this, it will be necessary to hold international conferences and strengthen International Sections. By comprehensively considering various measures for internationalization, I would like to contribute to the substantial internationalization of IEICE.

［Biography］

Akira Taguchi received B.E., M.E., and Dr. Eng. Degrees in electrical engineering from Keio University in 1984, 1986, and 1989 respectively. In 1989 he joined Musashi Institute of Technology (Current Tokyo City University). Since 2001, he has been a Professor at Tokyo City University. As activity in the IEICE, he was an Editor of the IEICE Trans. Fundamentals (2001-2002), a Chair of the Smart Info-media System (SIS) technical committee (2008-2009), a President-Elect, ESS (2018), a President, ESS (2019), a Chair of the executive committee of General Conference of IEICE (2011), and a Chair of the executive committee of Society Conference of IEICE (2017). He is a Fellow of IEICE.
