［所信表明］

電子情報通信学会は，約29,000人の会員数を擁し，電気電子工学分野におけるわが国最大規模の学会です．私は2015年から2017年の2年にわたり調査理事として，おもに学会の国際化や100周年記念マイルストーン事業の関係でお仕事をさせていただき，諸先輩方が築かれた歴史と数多くの偉業を学ばせていただきました．これからの2年間，副会長として，あらたに創るべく歴史の基盤となる，学会と社会とのつながりを再構築し，本会の存在意義と使命を訴えていきたいと思います．

［プロフィール］

1986年九州大学大学院工学研究科・博士課程修了．同年日本電信電話株式会社入社．厚木電気通信研究所，LSI研究所，システムエレクトロニクス研究所，通信エネルギー研究所，マイクロシステムインテグレーション研究所を経て，2007年より，大阪大学大学院基礎工学研究科教授．主に，電波（マイクロ波）と光技術との融合領域/境界領域として知られる，マイクロ波フォトニクス，テラヘルツフォトニクスと呼ばれる技術分野の研究に従事．本会業績賞，科学技術長官賞，前島賞，文部科学大臣賞など受賞．本会フェロー，EMA(Electromagnetics Academy)フェロー，IEEEフェロー．

［Statement］

The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) has approximately 29,000 members and is the largest society in Japan in the field of electrical and electronic engineering. As an IEICE Director, International Coordination and Publicity, for 2 years from 2015 to 2017, I worked mainly on the internationalization of the IEICE and the 100th anniversary IEICE milestone project, and have learned the greatest history and accomplishments of the IEICE. As a Vice President for the next two years, I would like to rebuild the connection between the IEICE and society, which is the foundation of history to be created newly, and appeal the significance and the mission of the IEICE.

［Biography］

Tadao Nagatsuma received Ph.D. degrees from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1986. From 1986 to 2007, he was with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Atsugi, Kanagawa, Japan. Since 2007, he has been a Professor at Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University. His research interests include millimeter-wave and terahertz photonics and their application to sensors and wireless communications. He received numerous awards including the Minister’s Award of the Science and Technology Agency, the Achievement Award of the IEICE, the Maejima Award, and the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. He is a Fellow of the IEICE, the Electromagnetic Academy (EMA) and the IEEE.
