[Statement]
World Trade Organization requires member countries to comply with WTO/TBT Agreement. The agreements posed that the domestic standards and regulations should comply with the relevant international standards. As such, international standards, e.g., IEC, ISO, and ITU standards, are becoming more important under growing globalizations. The Standard Activities Steering Committee of IEICE has given focus IEC fields. Under recent globalization, the importance of international standards is becoming more vital. I will contribute to enhance IEICE activities related to the international standardization.
