[Statement] Information and communication technology (ICT) plays a significant role in every aspect of our daily lives. Looking back, we are impressed with the progress of ICT that has dramatically transformed the way we live over many decades. Today, the rapid evolution of cloud computing has enabled us to amass and utilize an enormous amount of information to deploy IoT and BigData, which is surely going to bring another revolution to our lives. Amid such a situation, IEICE has played a pivotal role, contributing to the development and expansion of ICT. While moving forward in line with the trend of the times, we must make sure that the Institute will maintain that role and position. Undoubtedly, part of the important role of the Institute is to develop human resources for the next generation. It is a great honor for me to have been recommended as a candidate for the Director in Conference, Student Activities and Education. I hope that I may contribute to the further development of the Institute, making good use of my years of experience.
