[Statement] In accordance with the progress in recent decades of rapid technology evolution and digitization, ICT industry has to cope with structural transformation. In addition, ICT itself becomes as "social infrastructure" where ICT can solve many global challenges inherent in environment, city, water management, agriculture, and health care.
In order to cope with and survive the paradigm changes of the last decade, IEICE has also to enhance a central facilitating role in the development of the global ICT infrastructure needed to realize a healthy and dignified life for all. Bringing IEICE activities closer to industry, and supporting industry's development and deployment of systems, are also an important mission.
Considering these points, I will be highly committed for IEICE to provide invaluable services to members and become an essential asset to ICT communities, to stimulate academic research and technical development in ICT and related field and disciplines, and inspire engineers to devote their energies to technical advancement while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, and to define our aspirations and shape our activities to realize a future ICT society.
