Academic institutions as well as universities have huge knowledge data base and a lot of opportunities and spaces for meeting arrangement, which are useful and essential for service businesses. In order to be successful for IEICE in future, it is important to expand activities and to enrich our services both in quality and in quantity with improved security. We will enhance usability of services to our members through in-depth and full utilization of internet. We may try to extend our services to non-members and to provide them with knowledge data base and academic lectures, for example, as joint events of branch organizations and neighborhood universities. Our services would be focused not only on professional researchers and scholars but also on non-professional people. IEICE can find many opportunities to help the current society, where the number of senior people is escalating. I would be happy if I would be elected as Vice President and could contribute to IEICE.
