この度は、再度、通信ソサイエティ次期会長候補として推薦いただき、恐縮しつつも誠に光栄に存じます。Beyond 5G、有無線連携、APN、AI for Networking/Networking for AI など情報通信分野に劇的な変革が進みつつあります。様々な社会課題を解決する情報通信技術を創出するためには、老若男女、初学者から最先端の研究を担うエキスパート、産官学民など多様な視点をもつ会員の皆様の積極的な活動と連携が不可欠です。そのような共創の場を提供するとともに、これまでの通信ソサイエティ会長諸氏の優れた活動を継承しつつ、「会員目線・会員ファースト」の理念を実践し、通信ソサイエティの発展と会員の価値向上に尽力する所存です。最後に、私は自身の人生の中で受けてきたご恩をできる限り返したいと考えています。出身の大阪府及び出身大学には教員として、研究資金面でご支援を賜った文部科学省・総務省の各関係機関には評価委員やアドバイザーとして活動して参りました。是非、数多くのご縁と機会・経験を授かった電子情報通信学会通信ソサイエティにも、ご恩を返す機会を賜りたく、ご支援の程、何卒よろしくお願い申し上げます。
1988年阪大・工・通信卒。1991年12月より阪大助手。同助教授（准教授）を経て、2008年大阪府立大学大学院教授（2019年度後期から2021年度末まで学長補佐）。2022年度より大阪公立大学大学院教授．本会では、NS研専委員長、PN研専副委員長、PS研専幹事、ICN研専委員、英文論文誌EB編集委員、通ソ和文マガジン・通ソニュース編集委員などを歴任。本会フェロー。NS研究賞5回、ICM研究賞1回、通ソ活動功労賞6回、通ソ功労顕彰状1回。その他、JSPS第171委員会元委員長、JSPS学術システム研究センター元専門研究員、現在、NICT革新的情報通信技術研究開発委託研究及び高度通信・放送研究開発委託研究の評価委員、JST CRONOS領域アドバイザー及びJST CRDS先端科学技術委員会分野別委員などを担当。
I am deeply honored-and humbled-to be recommended once again as a candidate for the next President of the Communications Society. Our field is undergoing dramatic transformation with the emergence of Beyond 5G, integrated wired-wireless technologies, APN, and AI for Networking / Networking for AI. To create information and communication technologies that address diverse societal challenges, the active engagement and collaboration of our members-across all ages, from beginners to leading experts, and from industry, government, academia, and civil sectors-are indispensable. I am committed to providing a platform for such co-creation and to carrying forward the outstanding initiatives of past Presidents of the Communications Society. With a "member-centered, member-first“ mindset, I will devote myself to advancing the Society and enhancing the value it delivers to each member. Finally, I believe strongly in giving back to the many people and institutions that have supported me throughout my life. I have served my home prefecture and university as a faculty member, and I have contributed as an evaluator and advisor to the ministries and agencies that supported my research funding. I would be grateful for the opportunity to likewise give back to the Communications Society of IEICE, which has provided me with numerous connections, opportunities, and experiences. I sincerely ask for your support.
Dr. Hideki Tode graduated from Osaka University in 1988. After serving as an assistant professor and associate professor at Osaka University, he became a professor at Osaka Prefecture University in 2008, where he also served as Assistant to the President from the latter half of FY2019 to the end of FY2021. Since FY2022, he has been a professor at Osaka Metropolitan University. He has held numerous leadership roles within the Communications Society of IEICE, including Chair of the Technical Committee (TC) on Network Systems, Vice-Chair of the TC on Photonic Networks, Secretary of the TC on Photonic Switching, and a member of the TC on Information-Centric Networking. He has also served on editorial boards of the IEICE Transactions (English Edition), Japanese Magazines, and Newsletters. He is a Fellow of IEICE and has been honored with five NS Research Awards, one ICM Research Award, and several other recognitions. In addition, Dr. Tode is a former Chair of the 171 Committee of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and currently serves as an Expert Researcher at the JSPS Research Center for Science Systems. He is also an evaluation committee member for two commissioned research projects by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and serves as an advisor for the CRONOS project and field-specific committee member of CRDS Advanced Science and Technology Committee under the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
