LLMへの依存度が高まる中、特定分野の調査や探索では得られない、少し飛び地になるかもしれないような情報の重要性が増すように思います。技術の社会実装を後押しするような法制度の情報を含めたさまざまな業界の情報を提供し、会員の皆様がご自身の問いや課題解決の手段を磨くきっかけを提供することが本会の調査担当の貢献価値ではないかと考えます。本会が所掌する分野と関連する分野を横断するようなさまざまな“知と知”を結び、直面する社会課題に対して新しい価値をもたらすような基盤づくりに尽力し、本学会ならびに会員の皆様のますますの発展に貢献します。
1993年に電通大大学院・電子工学専攻を修了後、国際電信電話(株)（現、KDDI(株)）に入社。1995年より同社研究所にて、衛星・固定無線・移動無線に関する研究開発を進めるとともに国際標準化を推進し、国際標準化団体で議長職を担当。2014年からKDDI(株)の部長としてLTE-Advancedの開発と商用化を、また、2017年から5Gの実証実験や商用化を担当。2020年から（株）KDDI総合研究所取締役執行役員副所長として、Beyond 5G/6G時代の先端技術の研究開発を推進。2025年より同社代表取締役所長。
2006年に早大大学院にて博士（工学）を、2017年にグロービス経営大学院にて経営学修士号を取得。
本会では、和文論文誌編集委員や英文論文誌編集委員、衛星通信研究会幹事や無線通信システム研究会幹事を歴任。2023年に本会フェロー。
As reliance on LLMs grows, I believe the importance of information that cannot be obtained through investigations or explorations limited to specific fields―perhaps even slightly outside the mainstream―will increase. Providing diverse industry insights, including legal and regulatory information that supports the social implementation of technology, and offering opportunities for members to refine their own questions and problem-solving approaches, is the true value of the Society’s research function. By connecting various forms of “knowledge” across the domains under IEICE’s purview and related fields, I will strive to build a foundation that brings new value to addressing pressing social challenges, thereby contributing to the continued growth of IEICE and its members.
Satoshi Konishi joined Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co., Ltd. (currently KDDI Corp.) after receiving M.E. from the University of Electro-Communications in 1993. Since 1995, he worked at KDD R&D Labs (currently KDDI Research Inc.), where he engaged in R&D on satellite, fixed wireless, and mobile wireless communications, while also promoting international standardization and serving as a chairperson in international standardization bodies.
He led the development and commercialization of LTE-Advanced from 2014 and was responsible for demonstrations and commercialization of 5G from 2017 as a general manager at KDDI Corp. Since 2020, as Executive Vice President at KDDI Research Inc., he has driven R&D of advanced technologies for Beyond 5G/6G era. In 2025, he became President and CEO of the company.
He received Ph.D. and MBA from Waseda University in 2006 and from GLOBIS University in 2017, respectively.
Within IEICE, he served as an associate editor of the Transactions on Communications for both Japanese and English journals and as a secretary for both Satellite Telecommunications and Radio Communication Systems Technical Committees. He was named a Fellow of IEICE in 2023.
