私は長年にわたり企業の研究現場に身を置き、化合物半導体デバイスを中心とした研究開発に従事してまいりました。電子情報通信分野を取り巻く環境は大きく変化していますが、日本と関係の深い研究者・大学・企業が、実際に活動しやすい国内学会の存在は、これまで以上に重要になっていると考えています。企業の研究者は、実務に直結する課題解決のヒントを国内ならではの距離感で得られる場となり、大学の研究者にとっては、研究の社会実装や産学連携のきっかけとなる場となります。また、若手会員にとっては、研究の方向性を相談したり、キャリア形成に関する示唆を得たりする気軽で貴重な機会です。こうした「人と知が交わる場」の利点をわかりやすく感じられる運営を支える一助となりたいと思います。
1998年北海道大学卒業、2003年北海道大学大学院・電子情報工学専攻 博士後期課程修了。博士（工学）。2003年 日本電信電話株式会社入社。以来、現在まで化合物半導体デバイス、特に受光デバイスの研究開発に従事。現在、NTT先端集積デバイス研究所 主席研究員/研究部長。2024年より電子情報通信学会エレクトロニクスソサイエティ総務幹事。 2017年度 電子情報通信学会 業績賞受賞。
I have spent many years in industrial research and development, working on compound semiconductor devices. As the environment surrounding the fields of electronics, information, and communications continues to change, I believe that the role of a domestic academic society is becoming increasingly important.
For corporate researchers, such a society offers opportunities to gain practical insights and hints for solving real-world challenges, supported by the close connections unique to domestic communities. For academic researchers, it provides a place that can spark collaboration with industry and lead to the social implementation of research outcomes. For young members, it serves as an accessible opportunity to seek advice on research direction and receive guidance on career development.
I am committed to contributing to sustaining such a valuable place where people and knowledge naturally meet and interact.
Fumito Nakajima received the B.E., M.E. and Ph.D degrees from Hokkaido University, Hokkaido, Japan, in 1998, 2000 and 2003, respectively. In 2003, he joined the NTT Photonics laboratories. He has been involved in research and development on compound semiconductor devices. He is currently an executive research engineer, director of Materials and Devices Laboratory at NTT Device Technology Laboratories. He received the IEICE 2017 Achievement Award.
