電子情報通信学会は日本の情報通信分野の研究力強化、産業の発展に貢献する活動を長期にわたり行ってきました。その中心は研究会事業、大会事業、論文誌事業など、会員を主とする情報発信の場の提供であり、そこで情報を受ける会員とも相まって活性化することで、これらの事業が収益源となり、多数の会員からの会費と合わせて本会は安定的に運営されてきました。その一方で、情報収集を中心とする会員の減少や、情報通信分野を支える若手研究者の減少に伴い、会員数の減少が大きな課題となっております。加えて、これまで収益源であった情報発信を中心とする事業も、情報発信する手段の多様化や、大規模なプラットフォームを持つ海外学会・事業者の台頭もあり、収益が悪化傾向にあるところです。このような中で、本会の良さを活かし、将来的に安定して学会運営を続けられるように、研究会・大会・論文誌事業の成長を目指し、安定した学会となるように活動を行っていきたいと思っております。活動に際しては、現場の意見をくみ取り、ボランティアで活動を行っていただいている会員が、楽しんで活動できる場を提供できるように努力していきたいと考えております。
2002年慶應義塾大学 大学院理工学研究科 後期博士課程修了、2002年東京農工大学 工学部助手、2006年電気通信大学 先端ワイヤレスコミュニケーション研究センター 助教授、2015年〜電気通信大学 先端ワイヤレス・コミュニケーション研究センター 教授、2019年〜同研究センター センター長、2018年 UC Berkeley客員研究員、現在本会会計理事、RISING研究会研究専門委員会委員長、過去通信ソサイエティ副会長、通信ソサイエティ研専運営会議議長・副議長、スマート無線研究専門委員会委員長などを歴任、本会フェロー
IEICE has long contributed to strengthening Japan’s research capabilities in the information and communication fields and to advancing related industries. At the core of these contributions are activities such as technical committee, general conferences, and journal publications, which serve as platforms for information dissemination primarily for our members. These activities, together with membership fees collected from a large number of members, have supported the stable operation of the Institute. However, the recent decline in membership has become a major challenge, partly because fewer researchers now join for information-gathering purposes and partly because the number of young researchers who are expected to sustain the field is decreasing. In addition, the activities that traditionally served as our main revenue sources, especially those related to information dissemination, are facing financial difficulties. This is due to the diversification of information-distribution methods as well as the growing presence of international societies and commercial entities with large-scale platforms. Under these circumstances, we aim to build upon the strengths of IEICE and ensure the sustainable and stable operation of the Institute into the future by promoting the growth of our technical committees, conferences, and journal publication activities. In pursuing these goals, we will make every effort to listen to voices from the field and to create an environment in which our volunteer members can enjoy and find fulfillment in their contributions.
Takeo Fujii received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Keio University, Yokohama, Japan, in 2002. From 2002 to 2006, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. From 2006 to 2014, he has been an associate professor in Advanced Wireless Communication Research Center, The University of Electro-Communications. Currently, he is a professor in Advanced Wireless and Communication Research Center, The University of Electro-Communications. Currently, he is a professor and a director of Advanced Wireless and Communication Research Center, The University of Electro-Communications. He is a financial director of IEICE and also chair of technical committee of RISING of IEICE. He served several IEICE position such as a Vice President of IEICE Communication Society, chair of technical committee of smart radio of IEICE. He is a fellow of IEICE.
