基礎・境界ソサイエティ次期会長・会長を務めた2020年からの２年間は、対面での会議等が大きく制約を受けた期間でした。その間、オンラインを活用した会議運営などが広く普及し、世間一般でも電子情報通信分野の重要性が再認識されました。これまで本会では、電子情報通信分野の多様な研究分野の活性化のために、社会の変化にあわせて様々な取り組みがなされてきました。その努力は並大抵のものではなかったかと思います。今後も、本会に関連する分野の研究者・技術者・学生が、本会の活動に積極的に参加し、それぞれが費やすコスト以上のメリットをそれぞれが得られるよう、社会の発展に寄与できるよう、本会の発展に貢献していく所存です。
1989東工大・工・電気電子卒、1991東工大・工・電気電子修士了。1996博士（工学）。 1991東工大助手、2015年から東工大教授。現在、Science Tokyo工学院教授。本会にて、 ESS会長、システムと信号処理サブソサイエティ委員長、VLD研専委員長、FR誌編集委員長等を歴任。本会フェロー。
During two years when I was a President-Elect and a President of ESS, in-person meeting etc. were restricted, and online facilities were developed significantly, and the importance of the field of Electronics, Information and Communication is reconfirmed. Various efforts have been made to activate a wide range of research fields in accordance with the change of needs of our society. I want to contribute to our society by updating business models of IEICE so that researchers, engineers, and students can actively participate in the activities of IEICE, and can receive the benefits more than the efforts each provides to IEICE by adopting valuable ideas of them.
Atsushi TAKAHASHI received B.E., M.E., and D.E. degrees in electrical and electronic
engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1989, 1991, and 1996, respectively.
He joined Tokyo Institute of Technology as a Research Associate in 1991. He is currently a Professor at Institute of Science Tokyo. In IEICE, he was a President of ESS, a chair of System and Signal Processing Subsociety, a chair of Technical Group on VLSI Design Technologies, Editor-in-Chief of Fundamentals Review, and etc. He is a Fellow of IEICE.
