Withコロナ，Postコロナの時代において，情報通信・エレクトロニクス技術は社会の持続的発展のための中核的技術であることは間違いありません．そのような中にあって，18歳人口の減少を上回るペースで減少している新規会員数の問題や，他学会との連携，さらには同分野のコミュニティの再編成まで囁かれるようになってきた現在，本会がどのような役割を果たし，どのような方向に進んでいくべきかを問い直さなくてはなりません．本会が社会課題の解決に向けてどのような形で社会に貢献できるのか，小学生・中学生・高校生世代のジュニア会員，社会の中核を担う社会人，本分野を引っ張ってこられた諸先輩方など，多様な層の会員を擁する本会だからこそできることは何か，皆様と一緒に考え，行動に移して参りたいと考えております．
1990年東大・工・電子卒．1995年 東大院・工学系研究科電子工学専攻博士課程修了．博士（工学）．同年，名古屋大学大学院工学研究科助手．2008−2010年，東京工業大学大学院理工学研究科准教授を経て，2012年名古屋大学大学院工学研究科教授，現在に至る．2020年-2021年内閣府・上席科学技術政策フェロー（兼務）．画像処理，映像符号化，特に3次元映像処理・通信，3次元映像システム，および映像符号化の国際標準化活動に従事，2016年，2022年本会論文賞，2017年度映像情報メディア学会(ITE)丹羽高柳賞論文賞，FIT2017（第16回情報科学技術フォーラム）船井ベストペーパー賞，画像の認識・理解シンポジウム（MIRU2021）最優秀論文賞（MIRU長尾賞）ほか受賞．本会情報・システムソサイエティ画像工学研究専門委員会委員長，３次元画像コンファレンス2016 実行委員長，本会「画像符号化・映像メディア処理特集」編集委員長，ITE論文編集委員会委員長，画像符号化シンポジウム・映像メディア処理シンポジウム(PCSJ/IMPS) 運営委員長(IMPS)，本会情報・システムソサイエティ(ISS)会長，情報処理学会情報企画調査会SC29/MPEG/VIDEO小委員会エキスパート，SC29/WG1小委員会委員， FIT2024運営委員長などを担当．
In the with-corona and post-corona era, there is no doubt that information and electronics technology is a core technology for the sustainable development of society. The Society has been facing challenges such as a decline in new members at a faster rate than the decrease in the 18-year-old population, the need for collaboration with other societies, and even discussions about reorganizing the community in this field. Now is the time for us to reexamine the role the Society should play and the direction it should take. We must consider how the Society can contribute to solving social issues. Given that our Society has a diverse membership base, including junior members from elementary, middle, and high school, working professionals who are the backbone of society, and senior members who have led the field, we believe there is much we can do together. We would like to work with all of you to think about these issues and take action.
Toshiaki Fujii received his B.E., M.E., and Dr.E. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1990, 1992, and 1995, respectively. From 1995, he has been with the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University. From 2008 to 2010, he was with the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology. He is currently a Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University. His current research interests include light field imaging, light field processing, light field coding, multi-dimensional signal processing, multi-camera systems, multi-view video coding and transmission, free-viewpoint video, and their applications. He is a member of IEEE Signal Processing Society, the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC29/WG4, WG1 (MPEG-I Visual, JPEG) standardization committee, Information Processing Society of Japan, and Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers of Japan.
