近年、気候変動や災害、食糧問題、エネルギー問題、パンデミックや紛争など世界には多様な課題が噴出し、我々の「いのち」や「くらし」が危機に直面しています。産業界でのESG活動に限らず、昨今は大学・研究機関でも社会課題に関連した教育・研究活動を重視する傾向があり、電子情報通信学会の各分野の研究開発はより重要度を増しています。基礎・境界ソサイエティは、学会の全研究分野に対する基礎領域および境界領域の研究活動と新領域の創造を担っており、混沌とする時代により重要な役割を担っています。本会調査担当理事、本ソサイエティ幹事、特別委員、国際学会の役員等の経験を活かして、皆様とともにソサイエティの発展や学会員の価値向上に尽力していきたいと思います。
1993年大阪大学大学院工学研究科電子工学専攻博士前期課程修了。京都大学助教授、大阪大学教授、情報科学研究科長などを経て、2019年より大阪大学 理事・副学長。本会では、調査理事、企画室委員、スマート・インフォメディア・システム研究専門委員長、ESSソサイエティ誌担当幹事、大会担当幹事、会計幹事、和文誌(A)編集委員長などを歴任。本会論文賞、教育功労賞受賞。IEEE において CAS ソサイエティ理事、Region 10 (アジア太平洋地区) 理事、副会長、Japan Council会長など15年以上組織運営に係わる。
Recently, our "life" and "living" have been threatened by a variety of complicated social issues such as climate change, disasters, food problems, energy problems, pandemics, and conflicts. In addition to ESG activities in the industry, universities and research institutions have recently tended to emphasize education and research activities related to social issues, and research and development in various fields of IEICE are becoming more and more important. The Engineering Sciences Society is responsible for research activities in fundamental and interdisciplinary areas for all research fields of the IEICE and for the initiation of new research areas, playing a more important role in the difficult era. With my experience as an IEICE Director, an ESS BoD member, and officers of international societies, I look forward to working together with you to develop the Society and enhance the value of its members.
Takao Onoye received his M.E. degree in 1993 from Osaka University. After holding several academic positions in Kyoto University and Osaka University, he is currently serving the Executive Vice President for Research at Osaka University since 2019. In IEICE, he was a Director in charge of International Coordination and Publicity, a member of Planning Office, a chair of SIS-TC, and several positions in the Engineering Sciences Society. He has also experienced volunteer positions for IEEE administration over 15 years such as CASS Board of Governors, Region 10 Student Activities Coordinator, Treasurer, Vice Chair − Technical Activities and Professional Activities, Japan Council Chair, and so on.
