少子高齢化の加速に伴う労働力不足、気候変動に起因した災害の頻発化や激甚化、広がる経済格差など、今日における社会課題は日常生活にも直接的な影響を与えています。私たちはこれまで以上に知恵を絞り、社会で必要とされる技術を創出することが必要です。さらに、情報通信分野の枠を超えて産官学民が力を合わせることで、持続的成長が可能な社会基盤の構築が期待されます。社会の変化とともに本会が果たすべき役割も大きく変わろうとしています。学会において創造・集積された知が社会に拡がり浸透するよう、企画戦略室長として学会関係者をはじめとするステークホルダーと議論を重ねつつ、スピード感をもって取り組み、未来を見据えた学会のありたい姿の実現に貢献いたします。
1998年東大工・電気工卒、2000年同大修士了、2003年同大博士（工学）。2003年KDDI入社、同社研究所にて、モバイルネットワークやホームネットワークに関する研究開発や国際標準化に従事。2020年よりKDDI(株)技術企画部長を経て、2022年(株)KDDI総合研究所副所長およびKDDI research atelierセンター長に就任。2006年ネットワークシステム研究会研究賞、2011年情報ネットワーク研究会研究賞、2011年通信ソサイエティ活動功労賞。本会、情報ネットワーク研究専門委員会幹事を歴任。
With the acceleration of the aging population and declining birthrate leading to labor shortages, the increasing frequency and severity of disasters due to climate change, and the widening economic disparity, today's social issues are having a direct impact on our daily lives. Now more than ever, we need to harness our wisdom to create technologies that are required in society. Furthermore, by combining the strengths of industry, government, academia, and private sector beyond the field of information and communication, we can expect to build a social infrastructure that enables sustainable growth. The role that our association should play is also changing significantly with societal changes. As the head of Strategic Planning Committee, I will engage with a sense of speed in implementing measures, continually discussing with stakeholders including association members, and contribute to the realization of the future vision of our association, where the knowledge created and accumulated in the association spreads and permeates throughout society.
Naoki IMAI received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Tokyo in 1998, 2000, 2003, respectively. He entered KDDI Corporation in 2003, and researched on mobile network and home network in KDDI R&D Laboratories (now KDDI research Inc.). He also worked as a director of Technology Planning Dept. in KDDI Corporation. Since 2022, he has been Executive Vice President and KDDI research atelier Director of KDDI Research Inc. He served as a secretary of Information Networks Technical Committee. He received IEICE Communications Society: Distinguished Contributions Award, etc.
