人間は社会的動物であり、コミュニケーションは欠かせません。コロナ禍を経て、学術を始めとした創造的な社会活動にはコミュニケーションが重要であることが再認識されました。自分と社会を繋ぐものとして例えばSNSがありますが、取得する情報が偏る弊害を避けるには意識的に視野を広く持つようにする必要があります。また急速に身近になった生成AIですが、それを正しく活用するためにはどの情報が正しいかを見極め、問いを立てる力が求められます。多様な考え方に触れ、視野を広げ、そして議論を重ねることで問いを立てる力を鍛える、そういう場としての役割を果たすことが本会としてますます求められていると考えます。また本会自身が時代に求められる存在でいるためにも、人と同じように異なる領域の組織との連携や国際的な交流を深めていく必要があります。調査理事として本学会の発展に微力ながら貢献できれば幸いです。
2000年慶應義塾大学大学院理工学研究科電気工学専攻後期博士課程修了。同年、現（株）東芝に入社。以来、無線アクセスプロトコルの研究開発に従事。2004〜2008年英論文誌編集委員、2020〜2021年会計理事。信学会フェロー。PIMRC'98 Student Best Paper Award、1999年慶應義塾大学理工学部藤原賞、1999年エリクソン・ヤング・サイエンティスト・アワード、PIMRC2000 Student Best Paper Award、2003年学術奨励賞、2004年IEEE802.11j標準化活動功労賞、2008年通信ソサイエティ活動功労賞、2010年IEEE802.11n標準化活動功労賞、2011年、2015年関東地方発明賞発明奨励賞、2014年電気学術振興賞進歩賞、2016年市村産業賞、2018年業績賞、2021年文部科学大臣表彰科学技術賞、IEEE802.11ax標準化活動功労賞受賞。
Humans are social animals, and communication is essential. After the COVID-19 pandemic, it was recognized once again that communication is truly important for creative social activities including those in academia. SNS is one of the tools to connect individuals and society. However, one needs to consciously broaden one's perspective to avoid negative effects of biased information when using it. Generative AI has become rapidly familiar nowadays, but to use it, one needs to identify which information is correct and needs skill to make proper questions. I think IEICE is further expected to offer a place and chance for one to broaden one's perspective through exposing oneself to diverse ways of thinking, and improving one's questioning skill through engaging in discussions. In order for IEICE to be an entity that is required by the times, it is necessary to deepen cooperation with organizations in different fields and international exchanges, just like a human. It is my pleasure if I could contribute to the development of IEICE through the service of public relations and international affairs.
She received her Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Keio University in 2000. In the same year, she joined Toshiba Corporation. Since then, she has been engaged in research and development of wireless access protocols. From 2004 to 2008, she was an associate editor of the Transactions on Communications. From 2020 to 2021, she served as a director of IEICE on finance. She is a fellow of IEICE. She received Student Best Paper Award at PIMRC'98, Fujiwara Award from Fujiwara Scholarship Foundation of Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University in 1999, Ericsson Young Scientist Award in 1999, Student Best Paper Award at PIMRC2000, IEICE Young Researcher's Award in 2003, IEEE802.11j Award in 2004, IEICE Communication Society Distinguished Contributions Award in 2008, IEEE802.11n Award in 2010, Kanto Region Invention Incentive Award in 2011 and 2015, IEEJ Technical Development Award in 2014, Ichimura Prize in Industry in 2016, IEICE Achievement Award in 2018, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Commendation for Science and Technology Award and IEEE802.11ax Award in 2021.
