Shoji KASAHARA

[Statement]

For over a century, the IEICE has pursued innovative technologies and theories in the field of electronics, information and communications, significantly contributing to the development of the industry by disseminating achievements both domestically and internationally. Recently, the emergence of new information technologies, applications, and services such as generative AI, autonomous driving, and advanced medical technologies has accelerated, underscoring the growing importance of interdisciplinary technological development. To advance such development, it is indispensable to analyze problems from various perspectives and to integrate multiple technologies to create new products and services. Diversity, therefore, is an extremely important keyword for us. We need to consider what an academic society should look like to easily exchange diverse perspectives and ideas, what international efforts should be made to promote diversity, and what should be pursued towards diversity and inclusion. I would like to be committed to contributing to the development of our society while considering these issues together with all of you.
