世界中を震撼させたコロナショックを経て、私たちのライフスタイルは短期間に大きく変わりました。同時に、これまでの社会通念への変革も迫られ、新たな価値創造を求められています。大きな変革のチャンスです。私たちは、どこに向かって、何を強みにして、かわっていくのか、とても重要な局面に立たされているように思います。電子情報通信学会は、広い技術分野を網羅しており、チャンスを多く持っています。チャンスをつかみ、生かすためには、産官学が連携していくことも重要です。電子情報通信学会はその連携に向けた大きな役割を持っているとも言えます。私は、本学会を通して成長させていただいたことに感謝していますので、この学会を通して、日本の未来社会構築に寄与すべく、少しでも貢献したいと考えております。
1985年早稲田大学応用物理学科卒業、1987年東京工業大学電子物理工学専攻修士課程修了。2007年同大学工学博士。同年日本電信電話株式会社基礎研究所、1993年同社光エレクトロニクス研究所に入所。低次元系半導体光非線形研究、および主に半導体レーザの研究開発に従事。NTTエレクトロニクス社、古河ファイテルオプティカルデバイス株式会社を経て2019年古河電気工業入社。本会、エレクトロニクスソサイエティ副会長（研究技術担当）、エレクトロニクスソサイエティ会長、総務理事を歴任。電子情報通信学会シニアメンバ。日本学術会議会員。
After the Corona shock in the world, our lifestyles have been changed dramatically in a short period of time. At the same time, we are being forced to change our conventional thinking and to create new value. This is an opportunity for great chance. It is important for us to consider what we should make as the technology target, what we should make as a major benefit, and how we should change our framework. To take advantage of these opportunities, it is important that industry, government, and academia work together. The IEICE has an important role to play in this collaboration. I am grateful for the opportunity to grow through this society, and I would like to contribute to activities designed to create the future society of Japan through the IEICE.
Hiromi Oohashi received a B.S. degree in applied physics from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1985, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physical electronics from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 1987 and 2007.
She joined NTT Basic Research Laboratories, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation Tokyo, Japan, in 1987. She moved to NTT Opto-electronics Laboratories in 1993. She has engaged in research and development of optical semiconductor devices for telecommunication systems. In 2014, she moved to NTT Electronics Corporation and to Furukawa Fitel Optical Device Co., LTD. in 2017. In 2019, she joined Furukawa electric co., LTD..
She is a senior member of the IEICE. She has served as Vice President of the Electronics Society (the Chair of the Technical Council) in 2014, President of the Electronics Society in 2016, and Director, General Affairs in 2019. She is a member of the Science Council of Japan.
