ワクチン接種の進行でCOVID-19が終息するのではないかと期待していたものの、変異株の出現等でなかなかCOVID-19の出口が見えない状況です。しかしながら、COVID-19が多くの新しい「働き方」、「学び方」を生み出してくれたことも確かです。本会もコロナ禍、Webinar事業が本格化し、新しいサービス形態が構築されました。Webinarによるサービスはwithコロナ、postコロナの時代においても重要なサービスに位置づけられることは言うまでもありません。さて、本会のサービスの多様化が図られてきています。歳を重ねた会員へのサービス、小学生・中学生・高校生を含めた世代へのジュニア会員制度の構築、さらには、社会人への教育事業にも力を注いできています。このように、学会のサービスの拡大が図られてきているものの、多くの事業が過渡期であり、その定着を図るためにも皆様と共に議論・実践しながら本会の発展に貢献したいと考えています。
1984慶大・工・電気卒、1989慶大・理工･博士課程了、工学博士。同年、武蔵工大(現 東京都市大)助手。現在、東京都市大・情報工・教授（大学院総合理工学研究科長）。本会にて、英文論文誌編集幹事(2001-2002)、SIS研専委員長(2008-2009)、ESS運営委員会庶務幹事(2014-2015)、ESS次期会長（2018）、ESS会長(2019)、総合大会実行委員長(2011)、ソサイエティ大会実行委員長(2017)などを歴任。特別功労賞(2003)、貢献賞(2016)、教育功労賞(2019)などを受賞。本会フェロー。
We expected that COVID-19 would end with the progress of vaccination, but it is difficult to see the exit of COVID-19 due to the appearance of a new variant of COVID-19. However, it is certain that COVID-19 has created many new ways of working and learning. During this pandemic, the IEICE also built a new service, the Webinar business. It goes without saying that the Webinar service will be an important service even under the circumstances of both “with corona” and “post corona”. The diversification of the IEICE services is being promoted. The IEICE has established a junior membership system and enhancing services for middle-aged members. In addition, the IEICE is also focusing on the education business for working adults. Although the IEICE services have been expanded, many businesses are in transition. I would like to establish these businesses with everyone.
Akira Taguchi received B.E., M.E., and Dr. Eng. Degrees in electrical engineering from Keio University in 1984, 1986, and 1989 respectively. In 1989 he joined Musashi Institute of Technology (Current Tokyo City University). He is currently the Dean and Professor of the Graduate School of Integrative Science and Engineering, Tokyo City University. As activity in the IEICE, he was an Editor of the IEICE Trans. Fundamentals (2001-2002), a Chair of the Smart Info-media System (SIS) technical committee (2008-2009), a President-Elect, ESS (2018), a President, ESS (2019), a Chair of the executive committee of General Conference of IEICE (2011), and a Chair of the executive committee of Society Conference of IEICE (2017). He is a Fellow of IEICE.
