The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) show great potential and importance in many research area. In WSNs, sensor nodes need to perform the special tasks, such as fire detecting, movement sensing, target tracking etc. So, efficient deployment of wireless sensor nodes in the monitoring area is important issue to give the maximum coverage and sensing capabilities. Sometimes, the sensing nodes damage or burn-out the batteries because of the lack of maintenance in difficult and dangerous access areas. Therefore, some coverage holes are occurred and it is necessary to relocate some mobile sensor nodes to heal the coverage hole problem in this kind of monitoring area. We propose the efficient sensor deployment method with adaptive relocation of mobile sensor nodes to heal the coverage holes in the WSN monitoring area. Performance evaluation shows that the proposed method can give better coverage area by using shorter distance movements of mobile sensor nodes as well as lower processing time for the coverage hole healing process. |
