| 抄録（和） | ユーザが自ら視点を自由に移動させて３次元シーンを見ることができる自由視点テレビ（Free-viewpoint Television, FTV）は，無限の視点を持つ究極の３次元テレビであり，世界の映像メディアの頂点に立つ．撮影から表示までの全てをリアルタイムで行うＦＴＶシステムを構築すると共に，ノートPCや携帯端末での自由視点画像生成や自由聴点の実装にも成功している．また，３D空間の全ての光線を取得し再現する光線再現型ＦＴＶの開発を進めている．更に，ＦＴＶをMPEGに提案し，その国際標準化を推進している．ＦＴＶの第１フェーズは多視点映像符号化（Multi-view Video Coding, MVC），第２フェーズは３DV（3D Video）である．２００９年に成立したMVCは多視点映像を効率よく符号化するもので，ブルーレイ３Dに採用された．現在，ＦＴＶの第２フェーズとして，多眼式３次元ディスプレイに表示する３DV（3D Video）の標準化を行っている． |
| 抄録（英） | FTV (Free-viewpoint TV) that enables to view a 3D world by freely changing the viewpoint is the ultimate 3DTV and ranked as the top of visual media in the world. We proposed the concept of FTV and constructed the world’s first real-time system including the complete chain of operation from image capture to display. At present, FTV is available on a laptop PC or a mobile player, and FTV with free listening-point audio is also realized. We have been developing ray-reproducing FTV that captures all rays in 3D space and reproduces the same rays at different place and time. We proposed FTV to MPEG in 2001 and have been promoting its international standardization. The first phase of FTV was MVC (Multi-view Video Coding) and the second phase of FTV is 3DV (3D Video). MVC completed in 2009 enables the efficient coding of multiple camera views and has been adopted by Blu-ray 3D. 3DV is a standard that targets serving a variety of 3D displays and is currently in progress. |
