Position Statement
IEICE has been contributing to our society in many aspects, such as research and development, and education and human resource development through transactions, workshops, conferences, and publication. Due to the change of social and industrial structures and the progress of globalization, IEICE is required to enhance the value of itself in academic field, to offer places and chances for people exchange from various fields and countries, and to promote globalization. I hereby declare for discussing various policies with IEICE ComSoc members and carry out them to develop and reform IEICE. For instance, I would like to improve the academic value of IEICE transactions, make IEICE the hub of research activity of many countries, in particular of Asian countries, and increase exchange of people from various fields and countries. I can contribute to them using my extensive international experience.
Biography
Tomoaki Ohtsuki received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Keio University, Yokohama, Japan. He is now a Professor of the Department of Information and Computer Science at Keio University, Yokohama, Japan. He is engaged in research on wireless communications, optical communications, signal processing, and information theory. He has published more than 130 journal papers and 300 international conference papers.
He served a Chair of IEEE ComSoc, Signal Processing for Communications and Electronics Technical Committee, a technical editor of the IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine. He is now serving an editor of the IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, IEICE Communications Express, and Elsevier Physical Communications. |
