Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are expected to be significant tools to solve many problems facing modern Japanese society. Wide-ranging expertise and professional knowledge, and a wider vision are required. Whenever, academic point of view is indispensable and only IEICE serves as the academic center of Japanese ICT. IEICE should provide members with opportunities to sophisticate their knowledge, practical skills, and expertise, as well as international perspectives. I would like to serve as the Director, Journal and Transactions, to the best of my ability.
Biography
Testuro Fujii received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, all in electrical engineering, from the University of Tokyo, in 1979, 1981, and 1984 respectively. He joined NTT, Japan, in 1984. He has been engaged in research on Super High Definition image processing and its application to 4K digital cinema. From 2008, he is a professor at Tokyo City University. Now he is the dean of Graduate School of Environment and Information, Tokyo City University. He is a fellow of IEICE.
