The upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games have strongly ignited children and young athletes. Visible marks always make people enthusiastic. The IEICE is responsible for drawing up a blueprint of world technology in future years. In this context, it is significantly important to visualize the unsung hero, Electronics. It should also appeal in the fields such as environmentology, geoscience, space technology, and food source/supplies. The fields are also the mines of discoveries. Attractive electronics activates the world people. I would like to drive forward:
(1) Expansion of scopes in sponsoring international conferences,
(2) Enhancement of inter-society activities based on technological reality,
(3) Internationalization with transparency and respect for country/regional culture, and
(4) Speedy and flexible steering to implement new ideas and trials quickly with shining young people.
Biography: He received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1991 in electronic engineering. In 1987, he joined the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo, and currently he is Professor there. His main fields of interest are wireless electronics and neural networks. He served as IEICE Electronics Society (ES) General Secretary in 2006, IEICE Transactions on Electronics Editor-in-Chief in 2011, Japanese Neural Network Society President, Asia-Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar (APSAR) 2013 General Chair. He received ES Excellent Service Awards (2006 EMT Technical Committee, 2008 ES General Secretary). He is an IEEE Fellow.
