Whereas the mission and role of ICT become more and more important supporting the everyday life and social activities, underlying technologies tend to be less visible. Also, I believe that we need to actively deal with the competitive and/or cooperative environment with other countries, while domestically facing the challenge of a rapidly aging society. Under the circumstances, I would like to strengthen the following points, for example, with you all:
@(1) Influence as an opinion leader in the ICT field,
@(2) Dynamism of the Study Groups,
@(3) Visibility from the younger generation.
Profile
He received B.E., M.E., and Ph.D degrees from Waseda University, Tokyo, in 1980, 1982, and 1993, respectively. He joined Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co. (now KDDI Corp.), in 1982. He is a Managing Director of KDDI R&D Labs and a fellow of IEICE. He has been a Vice Chair of CS during 2006-2008.
