＜Statement＞
The IEICE is a community consisting of individuals and organizations that are contributing to the ICT industry. Fostering this community is not only for individuals such as engineers, researchers, and students to develop their carriers but also for developing ICT industry in Japan. I will contribute for IEICE to establish its identity in global situations by conducting necessary actions utilizing my experiences with IEICE and IEEE.

＜Short Biography＞
Naohisa Ohta received Ph. D from Tohoku University in Japan in 1978. He joined NTT Laboratories where he researched and developed algorithms for high-quality audio-video communications and highly parallel processing systems. In 1998, he joined Sony and directed R&D on high-quality AV transmission for real-time networked applications as a President of Broadband Applications Laboratories. He worked at Research Institute for Digital Media and Content of Keio University as a professor and directed projects on networked multimedia. Currently, he is a Professor of Graduate School for Media Design, Keio University. He is an IEEE Fellow.
