[IEICE-CS eNews<2025-12>]Call for Paper of Special Section related with Smart Radio Technologies, IEICE Trans. Commun. April 10, 2025. With recent advances in wireless technology, everything is connected to communication networks, and it is expected that systems (such as cyber-physical systems) that aim to improve social life by utilizing a wide variety of data collected through these networks will be realized. However, when operating such a system, it is expected that the amount of traffic flowing through wireless communication networks will increase significantly. Therefore, in order to maintain a future world supported by wireless communication networks, there is an urgent need to develop smart wireless technologies that can meet these demands. In order to promote research and development of smart radio technologies looking beyond 5G/6G, the 7th International Workshop on Smart Wireless Communications (SmartCom 2024) was held in Aachen, Germany. In collaboration with this workshop, a special section that covers research results with smart radio technologies is planned (scheduled to appear in the April 2026 issue) to further promote the research and development in this field. This submission is not limited to the paper related to SmartCom 2024, and we expect active submissions in the same field. 1. Scope This special section aims at timely dissemination of research in these areas. Possible topics include, but are not limited to: * Smart Radio technologies * Dynamic spectrum management * Smart IoT network * Communication theory * Flexible hardware * Ultra-high data-rate systems including microwave and millimeter/terahertz wave devices * Application of AI to wireless networks. 2. Submission Instructions The standard number of pages is 8. The page charges are considerably higher for extra pages. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the guideline in the "Information for Authors." The latest version is available at the web site, https://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/mokuji_cs.html. The term for revising the manuscript after acknowledgement of conditional acceptance for this special section could be shorter than that for regular issues (60 days) because of the tight review schedule. Submission deadline: May 9, 2025 (JST) Please see the detail of this special section at the website of IEICE Trans. Commun. https://www.ieice.org/eng_r/information/schedule/journals.php?type=02 3.
