Reflecting the global future direction of communications, we set the theme of the conference as 'Towards the era of ubiquitous networks'. I believe ICC 2005 will contribute much to establishing such futuristic communication networks, via which communication takes place naturally anywhere, anytime as we breathe. Please note that Paper submission is due on September 1 2004, which is a firm deadline. We are now ready to get the submission of your outstanding works and achievements. Call For Papers, Paper Submission instructions, and other general information for ICC 2005 can be found at www.icc05.org. The TPC will do its best to handle the submitted papers very cautiously, not to cause any unintentional dropping of papers from the final selected entry. I strongly encourage you to submit and present your best works to the ICC 2005 and also participate in tutorials and business application sessions as much as possible. I very much look forward to seeing you in Seoul in May 2005. Royal Palace-Gyeongbokgung Seoul became the national capital in 1394 during the Joseon Dynasty. As a result, Seoul has several beautiful ancient palaces. Gyeongbokgung was the main palace during the Chosun Dynasty(1392- 1910). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hwaseong, the Brilliant Fortress Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon City, Gyeonggi-do Province, represents the latest features of fortification in Korea. The fortress began construction in 1794 and finished in 1796. The fortress was designated as UNESCOE's World Cultural Asset. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Folk Village Yongin is a scenic town located 40km to the south of Seoul. At this replica of a traditional Korean village you will see aspects of everyday village life that are uniquely Korean. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Icheon Pottery Village Icheon Village of Ceramics is a definite destination for those interested in ceramics. There are traditional wood-fired kilns, where Goryeo celadon with its mystical bluish-green glaze and the Joseon white porcelain are produced. The galleries are the heartbeat of Insa-dong, and teahouses and restaurants are the perfect compliments to the galleries. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Korea House Korea House is one of famous traditional restaurant and also teaches traditional Korea culture and manners. The classes offering direct participation, such as the tea-ceremony, how to wear Korean traditional clothing and the etiquette, are very popular. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gyeongju and Bulguksa Temple As the capital of the ancient Silla Kingdom for almost a thousand years, Gyeongju preserves vast amount of significant and fascinating historical heritages. Bulguksa Temple is the representative relic of Gyeongju and was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995.
