私は、誰もが読みたくなるようなレビュー記事で論文誌を充実させたり、国際会議や研究会と論文誌の連携をより密にしたりするなど、会員が成長を実感できる場を提供したいと考えています。また、オンラインの利点を取り入れつつ、細かいニュアンスを伝えられる対面でのコミュニケーションを重視していきたいと考えています。機械学習(いわゆるAI)の深化によりこれまでの延長線上に豊かな社会が構築されると多くの人が期待していたなかで、突如として新型コロナウィルスが世界的に感染拡大し社会構造が急速に変化しています。対面でのコミュニケーションやハードコピーでの伝達からオンラインへの移行が急速に進んでいます。この急激な構造変化の中で、インフラから端末に至るまで、エレクトロニクスソサイエティの分野がますます重要になってきています。このような大きな変化の時代にあっても、社会の進化の礎を築くのは人の成長です。ダイバーシティを配慮しながら成長を育む仕組みを作ることが、未来の世代に貢献することにつながります。ひとりひとりの成長の場を提供することがソサイエティ活動の最終目標と私は考えます。社会の変化の波をとらえながら、エレクトロニクスソサイエティの活動を人の成長に資するものにしていきたいと考えています。

1993年東京大学工学系研究科博士課程修了。東京大学助手、講師、助教授を経て現在広島大学大学院先進理工系科学研究科教授。1998年~2000年ベルギー王国ルーベンカトリック大学客員教授。電子情報通信学会フェロー。1997年~1999年集積回路研究専門委員会幹事、2013年~2015年同副委員長、2015年~2017年同委員長。2007年~2008年エレクトロニクスソサイエティ総務幹事、2016年~2017年回路デバイス境界技術領域委員長。2019年~2020年エレクトロニクスソサイエティ副会長（編集出版担当）。2012年エレクトロニクスソサイエティ賞。

［Statement］

I would like to provide a place where our members can experience growth by enriching the journal with review articles that everyone will want to read, and by linking the journal more closely to international and domestic conferences. I also want to emphasize face-to-face communication that can convey the finer nuances while incorporating the benefits of online. Many people had hoped that the deepening of machine learning (so-called AI) would lead to the construction of a more affluent society as an extension of the past, but suddenly a COVID-19 has spread globally and the social structure is changing rapidly. There has been a rapid shift from face-to-face communication and hard copy to online. In this rapid structural change, the field of the Electronics Society, from infrastructure to terminals, is becoming increasingly important. Even in these times of great change, it is the growth of people that lays the foundation for the evolution of society. Creating a system that fosters growth while considering diversity will contribute to future generations. I believe that the goal of society activities is to provide a place for everyone to grow. I would like to make the Electronics Society's activities conducive to the development of people, while keeping up with the waves of social change.

［Biography］

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 1993 and was a visiting professor at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium (1998-2000). He was a research associate, lecturer, and associate professor at the University of Tokyo, and is currently a professor at the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Hiroshima University. He is a fellow of the IEICE. He was secretary (1997-1999), vice-chair (2013-2015), and chair of the committee (2015-2017) of the technical committee on integrated circuits and devices (ICD), and general secretary of the Electronics Society (2007-2008), chair of the circuit and device boundary technology area committee (2016-2017), vice president of the Electronics Society (in charge of editorial publishing) (2019-2020). He received Electronics Society Award (2012).
