［所信表明］

この度、光栄にも総務理事候補に推薦いただきました。本会は研究会、出版事業、大会事業を大きな柱として発展を続けております。一方で若手の育成がどの分野・領域においても深刻な問題となっていると感じております。持続可能な学会力を作るには恒常的な若手の育成が不可欠です。若手にとって魅力ある学会を目指すのはもちろんで、若手を取り込む仕組み作りを組織として考えていかなければなりません。私個人としては、人と人との繋がりを作り維持するには、時には熱く語り合い、愚直なまでに意見交換することかと思っており、そこから未来に向けた道が開けると信じております。このような思いを基本にして、これまでお世話になってきた信学会の発展に少しでも貢献できればと考えています。

［プロフィール］

1982年名工大電子工学科卒、1984年京大大学院修士課程了、1987年京大大学院博士課程了。同年京大助手、1988年名工大助手。2001年より同大学教授。工学博士。適応アレー信号処理、電波源推定、移動伝搬解析に従事。2006年本会論文賞、2016年本会教育功労賞を受賞。

＜本会での主な活動＞

2007〜2008年和文論文誌B編集委員長、2009〜2010年通信ソサイエティ副編集長、2011〜2012年ComEX編集委員長およびアンテナ・伝播研究専門委員会副委員長、2014〜2015年通信ソサエティ副会長（研専担当）、2018〜2019年MIKA実行委員長、2020年通信ソサイエティ会長および東海支部支部長。本会フェロー。

［Statement］

It is my great honor to be nominated as a candidate of Director of General Affairs of IEICE. IEICE continues energetic activities in technical committees, publication and conferences. On the other hand, I feel it is more difficult to develop younger engineers who will support future technologies. To make sustainable management power in IEICE, a system of involving younger engineers and researchers is necessary as well as attractive activities. I believe straightforward communications with passion will open a path to future. With this fundamental thought, I would like to contribute to further developments of the IEICE.

［Biography］

He received B.E. degree in electronic engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology in 1982, and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Kyoto University, in 1984 and 1987, respectively. From 1987 to 1988, he was a Research Associate at Kyoto University. In 1988, he joined Nagoya Institute of Technology, where he has been a Professor since 2001. His research interests include adaptive and signal processing arrays, radio source estimation, and mobile propagation analysis. He received IEICE Best Paper Award in 2006 and IEICE Educational Service Award in 2016. He served as Editor-in-Chief of Transactions on Communications (Japanese Edition) of IEICE Communications Society during 2007-2008, Vice Chair of Editorial Board of IEICE Communications Society during 2009-2010, and Editor-in-Chief of IEICE Communications Express (ComEX) and also Vice Chair of Technical Committee on Antennas and Propagation during 2011-2012. During 2014-2015, he served as Vice President of IEICE Communications Society. He worked as a General Chair of MIKA2018 and MIKA2019. Currently, he is the President of IEICE Communications Society and Chair of IEICE Tokai Section. He is a Fellow of IEICE.
