［所信表明］

移動通信の発展と共に、携帯電話、スマートフォンは通信インフラから社会インフラへ移りつつあります。また、新たな通信方式として近年導入が予定されている5Gは、様々な産業との連携が進められており、我々が直面している地方創生、労働力不足、医療介護等の社会問題の解決への貢献が期待されております。本学会が担っている情報通信技術が、そうした課題解決に向けて果たす役割は大変大きいと確信しております。微力ながら企画理事として、本会が世の中の期待に応え、より豊かな社会へと導けるように本学会の運営に貢献していく所存です。

［プロフィール］

1997年大阪大学大学院博士後期課程修了(博士（工学）)。同年、NTT移動通信網株式会社（現NTTドコモ）入社。以来、3G, 4G, 5G移動通信システムの研究、標準化、基地局開発に従事。現在、NTTドコモ無線アクセス開発部部長。2000年〜2001年　Princeton大学客員研究員。2005年〜2009年 3GPP TSG RAN WG1副議長。前島密賞、電波功績賞、本会業績賞、同学術奨励賞、ITU協会賞（奨励賞、功績賞）などを受賞。

［Statement］

As the growth of the mobile communication system, mobile phone is now becoming from communication infrastructure to social infrastructure. Furthermore 5G system which is planning to launch recently as a new mobile communication system is expected to solve the social issues such as regional revitalization, labor shortage and medical care with collaborating with vertical industry. I believe that IEICE, which leads advancements of ICT, plays major roles to solve those social issues. I will make great efforts for IEICE’s smooth operation to help that IEICE will fully perform expected role to contribute progress of human society enrichment as a Director of planning.

［Biography］

Sadayuki Abeta received the Ph.D. degrees in electrical communication engineering from Osaka University in 1997. In 1997, he joined NTT DOCOMO, INC. and is now a General Manager of the radio access network development department. He has been working for research and development of the 3G, 4G and 5G. From 2000 to 2001, he was a visiting researcher in Princeton University. From 2005 to 2009, he was a vice chairman of 3GPP TSG-RAN WG1. He received He received numerous awards including the Maejima Award, the Achievement Award of the IEICE, IEICE Young Researcher's Award etc.
