［所信表明］

英論文誌B編集委員会傘下のインパクトファクタ向上WGに委員として関与させて頂いてから、10年近く英論文誌のインパクトファクタ向上に向けた活動に関わって来ました。この間、英論文誌の品質向上や査読期間の短縮といった編集レベルから、ポジション・ペーパーの新設や採録論文の早期公開といった運営レベルの施策に携わって参りました。一方でこの10年の間に電子情報通信関係の論文誌の数は激増し、短期採録出版型オンラインジャーナルの出現やメジャー学会・大手出版社によるオープンアクセスジャーナルの発刊など、論文誌を取り巻く環境は激変し、編集組織内の方策だけではさらなる改善が難しい状況になりつつあります。このような厳しい状況の時にこそ、論文誌をはじめとする学術情報発信のあり方を学会横断的に議論し、大会や研究会、その他様々な学会活動と連携・協力して学術出版の施策を検討することが欠かせません。著者にとっても読者にとっても魅力溢れる学術誌の出版活動に貢献できるよう、微力ながら尽力したいと思います。

［プロフィール］

1989年京都大学工学部卒業。1993年同大学院博士課程退学。現在奈良先端科学技術大学院大学・教授。博士（工学）。マルコフ解析や極値統計等の応用確率論によるシステム性能モデリングの研究に従事。本会通信ソサイエティ編集会議・編集長、英文論文誌B編集委員長、研専運営会議・総務幹事等を歴任。本会フェロー。

［Statement］

I was a member of the WG for Impact Factor improvement under the editorial committee of IEICE Transactions on Communications almost a decade ago. Since then， I have been involved in activities for improving the journal quality， including the development of the editorial process with a short review period， a new category of position paper， and the advanced publication service. In this decade， however， the number of telecommunication journals has increased， and major academic societies and big publishers have developed web-based publication services with rapid review processes， even launching open-access journals. In order to make IEICE publications more attractive， I would like to do my best to improve publication services for both the readers and authors of IEICE， considering how to disseminate novel academic knowledges to the members of IEICE through the collaboration with technical committees and conference activities.

［Biography］

Shoji Kasahara received the B.E.， M.E.， and D.E. degrees from Kyoto University in 1989， 1991 and 1996， respectively. He is currently a Professor of Nara Institute of Science and Technology. His research interests include applied-probability based performance modeling of computer and communication systems. For IEICE activities， he served as the Chair of Editorial Board of Communication Society， the Editor-in-Chief of IEICE Transactions on Communications， and the Director of General Affairs， Council of Technical Committee Representatives. He is a Fellow of IEICE.
