エレクトロニクスソサイエティは、日本の電気通信技術の発展に重要な役割を果たしてきました。これからも、研究会及び大会の開催、論文誌の発行、電気通信分野に関わる啓発活動などを通じて、学術と産業の進歩を支えていく必要があります。私は、研究専門委員会が開催する研究会に、今まで以上に多数の講演者、参加者が集まって議論しやすい環境を用意すること、和文誌、英文誌及びELEXへの投稿奨励、IF向上について取り組みたいと思います。学会会員数の減少が課題となっていますが、企業で研究開発を担う方々が是非とも会員となりたいと思うように、エレソの改革に貢献したいと思います

［Statement］

The IEICE Electronics Society has a crucial and increasing role in the progress on electronics and information technologies. The Electronics Society has to push them by the organization of domestic/international conferences, the publication of journals, and the educational campaign on the electronics and information technologies. I would like to promote those activities, in particular, to provide the good opportunity and the place for the technical discussion with speakers and participants, to encourage researchers to submit their papers to our journals, and to improve impact factors. The decrease in number of members is the critical issue of our society. I would like to contribute to the improvement of the Electronics Society to expect more engineers and researchers in a company to join our society.

［Biography］

Hiroyuki Tsuda received the B. S. degree from Waseda University, Japan, in 1985, the M. E. and Ph. D. degrees from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 1987 and 1998, respectively. In 1987, he joined NTT Laboratories, Japan. Since 2000 he has been at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Keio University, where he is now a professor. In 2018, he is a visiting professor at University College London. Prof. Tsuda is a senior member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, a member of the IEEE Photonics Society, the IEEE ComSoc, the Optical Society of America, the Japan Society of Applied Physics, and the Optical Society of Japan.
