[Statement]

Many of the challenges we now face in the real world require effective utilization of information and communication technologies such as IoT and the ability to work across traditional boundaries between fields. This has led in recent years to increased interest in interdisciplinary research across fundamental fields including artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, and data science and across several applied fields. As one of the planning directors, I will work to strengthen the Society’s ability to develop solutions aimed at these challenges. I will focus on the promotion of interdisciplinary research and internationalization through intensive and extensive discussions with Society members. I will work to implement a mechanism for facilitating collaboration across fields so as to further promote integrated research. In addition, I will consider the development of a mechanism that supports international evaluation of the Society’s activities by making full use of my experience serving on committees of international societies.
