OPEN「開かれた学会を目指して」
本会は100年を超える歴史があり、真に社会を技術で支えてきました。また、５ソサエティ、１グループという多種多様な分野を取り扱う国際学会です。学会活動の目的は、大学・企業の研究者・技術者、或いは産業政策に係る方々まで幅広いネットワークを形成することで、知識と知恵の共有、融合により創発することです。同時に既存知識の継承・発展及び次世代の専門人材の育成やリスキリングに資することと思います。一方で、急速なディジタル化等が進み、人々を取り巻く環境は激変しています。例えば医療や社会科学などと境界を越えた幅広い連携（Open）が進んでいます。その結果を、人材を含めて社会に還元する（社会貢献）ことが必須です。大胆に変化させるところ、今後100年を考えてしっかり継承すべきところを見極め、電子情報通信技術の持続的発展のリーダーシップを取るのが会長の責務です。企業20年、大学の教員20年、新入社員時の発表を経験してから研専委員長、編集、企画各理事、東京支部長、副会長と40年間に渡り、本会とともに成長させていただきました。様々な立場の会員の皆様の期待に応えられる学会にしていく所存です。
山中直明 （理工学部 情報工学科 教授 工学博士）
1983年、慶應義塾大学理工学研究科修士課程修了、NTT入社、以降NTTネットワークサービス研究所当時11名だけが指名された特別研究員として、将来のブロードバンドネットワークの基盤技術の研究開発を担当。2000年 40歳で当時日本最年少のIEEEフェローの称号を受ける。2004年より慶應義塾大学理工学部教授。以降、光ネットワーク、エネルギーネットワーク制御、自動運転の研究。慶應義塾先端科学技術研究センター所長としても理工学部産学連携を推進。フォトニックインターネットラボ代表、米国相互接続サイトISOCORE Executive Director, IEICEフェロー、IEEEフェロー、情報処理学会シニアメンバー、電気学会会員、電子情報通信学会編集理事・東京支部長・企画理事・副会長を歴任、IEEE Communication Society Director、IEEE ComMag, Com. Survey, IEICE Trans Com 等のEditor を歴任 IEICE 論文賞・業績賞・功績賞、IEEE ETCT Best Conference Paper Award 3回、IEEE Globecom Best Paper Award. IEEE CPMT Part-B The Best Transaction Paper Award、電気通信普及財団テレコム技術賞、など受賞多数。
OPEN "Aiming to be an open academic society
With a history of over 100 years, the institute is a comprehensive global society that truly supports social, and has a wide range of fields, including five societies and one group, and has a large degree of diversity. The purpose of the society's activities is to form a broad network of researchers and engineers from universities and companies, as well as those involved in industrial policy, to share knowledge and wisdom, and to create new ideas through fusion. At the same time, we hope to contribute to the inheritance and development of existing knowledge and to the training and reskilling of the next generation of specialists. On the other hand, the environment surrounding the industry has drastically changed with the rapid progress of digitalization. For example, there is a wide range of collaboration (Open) that transcends boundaries with medicine and social sciences. It is essential to return the results to society (social contribution), including human resources. It is the President's responsibility to take the leadership in the sustainable development of electronic information and communication technology by identifying areas that need to change boldly and areas that need to be firmly inherited with the next 100 years in mind. I have grown with the Society over the past 40 years, from 20 years as a corporate employee, 20 years as a university faculty member, and 20 years as a newly hired employee making presentations, to becoming a research committee chair, editor, planning board member, Tokyo Section Chair, and vice president. I am determined to make the association responsive to members in different positions.
Naoaki Yamanaka (Professor, Department of Information Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Doctor of Engineering) Naoaki Yamanaka received his M.E.E. from Keio University in 1983, and joined NTT in 1983. Since then he has been research and development of broadband network technologies as a distinguished research member who is appointed only 11 members in NTT labs. In 2004 he moved to Keio university, since then, he has been involved in research on optical networks, energy networks, and automated driving. He is also the director of the Keio Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, which promotes industry-academia collaboration in the Faculty of Science and Technology. He has served as a representative of Photonic Internet Lab, Executive Director of ISOCORE, a US interconnection site, IEICE Fellow, IEEE Fellow, Senior Member of Information Processing Society of Japan, Member of Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, Editorial Director of IEICE, President of Tokyo Section, Planning Director and Vice President of IEICE, and IEEE Communication Society Director, Editor of IEEE ComMag, Com. Survey, IEICE Trans Com, etc. IEICE Best Paper Award, Achievement Award, Distinguished Achievement and Contributions Award, IEEE ETCT Best Conference Paper Award 3 times IEEE Globecom Best Paper Award. IEEE CPMT Part-B The Best Transaction Paper Award, Telecom Technology Award of Telecommunication Promotion Foundation, and many other awards.
