Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we investigate the effectiveness of acoustic features for detecting urgency in voicemail. In previous research, acoustic features for the estimation of emotions such as joy and anger were investigated. Furthermore, the detection of urgency in single word recordings has been studied. In our research, we used a more complex data set containing recordings of simulated voicemail in which the customer tells highly urgent requests to a company. In our experiments, the discrimination accuracy rose from 65% when only using MFCC features as in previous research, to 73% when using all acoustic features discussed in this paper.
